Deceptive marketing, poor implementation, poor user experience
The price of this app is "free" (or it was when I downloaded it), but once you log in you find that all you have is a basic wordlist that you can look up, but if you want more than that you have to buy expensive add-ons to get any good use out of this product--in the app description above, it doesnt say that you have to buy add-ons. For example, the expert-level English-German dictionary add-on costs $89.99! I think this is misleading.
Also, looking up words from other applications does not work - I right-clicked a word in an email message and on a web page, and selected "Lookup in Langenscheidt Dictionaries" (which is grammatically incorrect - "Lookup" is a noun, not a verb). What happens is that the dictionary application pops up and puts the cursor in the search field, but the field remains blank and no definitions appear in the app screen. I would have thought that looking something up from another app meant that Langenscheidt would have auto-populated the screen with the definition of the word I selected for me - not require me to type the word in again. I think this is a poor implementation and poor user experience.
I am uninstalling this app right after I finish this review, but I will check it again in the future to see if they get it right in a later version.
